The Square has undergone many alterations over the years,it was the nerve center of the growing city,where many hotels and travel agencies were located.The Clock Tower was built in 1898 during the reign of the Ottoman Sultan Abdul- Hamid the 2nd,who ordered the erection of similar towers in major Cities.
